Kat can read!
Instead of my usual weekend offerings, I’m up to something a bit unusual…
I am organizing two fund raisiers benefiting Relay For Life of Second Life. The first, Fiction for a Cure, which is now open to the public (if you love shopping, and cannot have enough pixel things, you should check out the gift card/store credit raffles)! Michael A. Stackpole is my partner in crime, and co-organizer of this very special fundraiser. There is much information on the site, be sure to check out all the silent auctions and live auction items! You can also get more information from this great interview Joonie Jatho did with Mike Stackpole.
Among other things, I am offering a reading of Pride and Prejudice, Chapters 1& 2 (Jane Austen, a work entirely in the public domain) at Fiction for a Cure on Saturday, July 12th, at 2pm SLT. The reading benefits Relay For Life of Second Life. This is a voice chat event. (Please come with voice enabled, and your microphones muted. ) Admission is free, the suggested donation is L$500 – but any donation is most greatly appreciated.
As a 12-year, stage IV breast cancer survivor, I am indebted to research funded by the American Cancer Society for my life. When you’re told you have Stage IV cancer, of any type, you’re being told to get your affairs in order… soon, in fact – you might as well get started on that now. Yet, 13 years after my diagnosis, and 12 years after completing treatment, here I am. I’ve put those 12 years to good use: I’ve adopted five children, nine dogs, and seven cats, embarked on a new career, and gotten immersed in Second Life. I am proud of each of things, and thankful to have the chance.
If you can spare an hour, check it out. Take this limo to the reading!
Thank you all so much for your support. Love ya lots! oxxo,
